Michelle Shih
(CHINESE & Taiwanese LANGUAGE PERFORMANCE)

Michelle Shih is a Taiwanese-Australian guitarist, composer, and improviser currently active in Sydney. Her range of influences and music is diverse, including mainstream jazz, creative improvised music, classical guitar, and traditional Taiwanese music.

Michelle holds a music bachelor’s degree, majoring in classical guitar as well as a master’s degree in Musicology. In 2001, she won first place in the Taiwan National Classical Guitar Competition.

Rebecca Rylands is a community musician, drum therapy facilitator and registered counsellor. She has a performance music degree, postgraduate diploma in teaching and a masters in counselling. Her dissertation focused specifically on the use of therapeutic drumming for the enhancement of social and emotional health. He has appeared on TV (Under Cover Boss, Today Show, Hey Hey Its Saturday, Mornings With Kerri Anne, performed Internationally and in 2018 he won the CONDA (City Of Newcastle Drama Association) Award for “BEST THEATRICAL EVENT”!
